Burzynski’s Antineoplastons

There has been much controversy toward Dr Burzynski and his antineoplaston (translated to anti-cancer) treatment. I have seen MANY blogs and forums vindicating the poor doctor who is trying to help human-kind. The biggest comment I have seen from the “anti-” antineoplaston community is that there is no evidence on the efficacy.

As I am a university student and I have unprecedented academic journal subsciptions at my disposal. In a search that I did about… 5 mins ago the results were as follows.

Search topic/keyword:     “Antineoplastons”

Results:     139 Articles – Direct Results (NO Duplicates)

These articles, dating from 1977 till now, go into depth about the results of past trials of antineoplastons highlighting the high level of efficacy they have in fighting cancer. As well as their superiority to conventional chemotherapy and radiation techniques. They also give information about the significantly lower frequency and severity of side-effects of antineoplastons. Originally they were extracted from healthy humans’ blood and urine, but Burzynski was forced to create them synthetically, which he now does today.

Surprisingly only half of these articles were written by Burzynsky and his research staff, the other half were written by other doctors and researchers and even a few from pharmaceutical companies. One common theme I discovered after reading only a few of Burzynski’s papers was the DOSE-SPECIFICITY of the antineoplastons. It was found that higher doses were needed to have any effect. This illustrates a topic highlighted in the movie that was based around Burzynski and his trials.
Basically another researcher trialled antineoplastons and used a dosage “53 times lower” than those that Burzynski used, to “prove” the ineffectiveness of antineoplastons. Of course it won’t work if you dont follow the directions. When you bake a cake if you put a pinch of sugar in it instead of a cup it will taste like crap, not the same outcome (although would be ALOT more healthier).

ANOTHER major topic that is covered in many of these papers is that antineoplastons from HUMANS only work on HUMAN participants, therefore illustrating why antineoplastons derived from HUMANS do no work on MICE. But the FDA used these mouse trials as a reason to not let Burzynski continue, DESPITE all the HUMAN TRIAL evidence. These same results have been replicated in the other papers I have come across.

MORAL OF THE STORY:

Don’t make yourself look foolish by saying that “there is no evidence of Dr Burzynski’s Antineoplastons working to fight cancer”. There is heaps of it!

If you would like to see these papers I will be posting up a reference list soon and you can look them up yourself. If you do not have academic journal access, find a uni student who does and ask them ever-so-nicely for help. Alternatively you can pay-per-article from some sites or subscribe to databases such as SCIENCEDIRECT.

I am not able to redistribute articles to individuals as this would be a breach of contract regarding privacy and subscription policies. But I am happy to point you in the right direction.
